WILLIAM A. HEITIN

Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer, CPA

Bill is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Windrose Advisors and Chair of the firm’s Investment Committee. He was also Windrose’s first Chief Investment Officer. In his leadership role, Bill oversees the overall management and strategic direction of the firm, while continuing to work closely with clients. His investment focus is on private portfolio investments, with a particular emphasis on real estate.

Before founding Windrose, Bill served as Founder, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of Garnet Street Partners (GSP), a private family investment office. At GSP, he was responsible for building the investment and family office infrastructure and made all investment-related decisions.

Prior to GSP, Bill was a Managing Director at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Investment Management Company (MITIMCo), one of the world’s largest endowments. As one of five Managing Directors, he sat on MITIMCo’s Internal Investment Committee and played a key role in evaluating and approving all investment decisions. He also served as Secretary to the MITIMCo Board of Directors, managing all operational aspects of its investments.

Bill began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked as a Senior Manager in the Audit and Business Assurance practice. He holds a BS in Accounting from Fitchburg State University, an MBA in Finance from Suffolk University, and a certificate from MIT’s Leader to Leader program. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

In addition to his role at Windrose, Bill serves on the advisory boards of Loft Partners and Charles River Realty Investors. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Investment Committee at JCC Greater Boston, and a Trustee and Investment Committee member of Hebrew SeniorLife. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Fitchburg State University Foundation and spent over 20 years as an elected official on the Town of Sharon Select Board.

Bill and his wife live in Sharon, Massachusetts, and have two daughters.
